Glittering Wood moss ( Hylocomium splendens )

Hylocomium splendens also known as Glittering Wood Moss is a member of the Hypnales family. This glossy moss has a suprisingly wide variety of colours. Ranging from bright green, green-yellow, orange, pinks and reds with a contrasting pinky-red stem. Shoots are several to 10 or even 20 cm long.  Very common unlike its sporophytes which are uncommon

Rather similar to Tamarisks in care. Grows into big fluffy carpets. Does well under shady wet acidic ground around trees or shrubs. Likes humidity of 70%+ and bright partial shade. however it can handle periods of direct sunlight for a longer period of time.
